- Champions of the 4th Annual Dinan Invitational...
-
The "Sandbaggers" won the Fourth Annual Dinan Invitational on Friday, July 31st on the Links course at the Arizona Biltmore Resort in Phoenix, AZ.
A strong -6 under par gives Jacobs his 2nd title in as many tries as the Dinan Invitational....some say it is his massive 1-iron, others his sweet, smooth stroke with the wedge, but those who were there credit the other 3 players who made it rain in the desert!
Congrats:
Nate Jacobs
Nate Plett (Team Captain)
John Giesen
Jeremy Wallace

Utah does it again, this time making an even better case that they are a legitimate force in college football. GO UTES!

Bonds is a cheater. Plain and simple. I don't blame Hank at all for his response...http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/wire?section=mlb&id=2832273
- Mediocre athlete=$34 million???

When did we start rewarding people for being average? I think it begins in elementary school, when we label everyone a "winner" and everyone gets an award, not matter how insignificant they are, just so they do not feel discriminated against. Now it is moving into professional sports, where once this was a bastion of rewarding only the physically elite and top performers, without guilt.
Now, explain to me how this happens???...http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news;_ylt=AtdeE4GpcYoC_3rzMAi86j4RvLYF?slug=ap-whitesox-vazquez&prov=ap&type=lgns

Jason again is exactly right. Stern and the NBA made this bed, now they must sleep in it. Just watch out for the shank!

This is one of the most refreshing articles I have read. If all of us would take this advice and own up to our own problems and take stewardship over ourselves and communities, what a world of difference it would make.
But this doesn't make it into the mainstream channels. They'll keep pumping out that garbage that "sells."
It's just nice to see someone not playing the victim card and seeing in people not color.

- Iverson
-
Is it just me or does anyone else think the reason the 76er's haven't got (can't get) rid of Iverson is not because they are holding out for something long term, but rather they can't find anyone who wants him. Who would trade something promising for something fading. Probably the same people that think Gary Payton was the reason the Heat won last year. I would not give up much for AI definitely not a promising draft pick. Maybe the Nuggets or Knicks can use him now!

I half expect to see a Wojnarowski article breaking the sotry of Kobe walking on water! It's almost an unhealthy obsession he's got going on. Kobe might want to close all the drapes!
- Changing the BCS...
-
This is a great idea, and one that many of us have thought would be the best way to do it. The BCS must be getting something more then chests full of money in doing it the current way-as a new playoff systme would surely generate gobbs more money. Maybe someday we'll get somethnig like this...http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaaf/news?slug=tb-bracketbuster110906&prov=yhoo&type=lgns#bracket
- The "'Sheed" Rule...

Exactly. http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=email_en&refer=home&sid=ah56D6x1tefA . Players need to shut up and play. Another reason why college b-ball is the preference of this Big guy. We can't let the league become the WWF of basketball.
